Hello world!

On the morning of April 4th I woke up with a clear vision of what I was going to do in the near future…
From September 2005 till that moment I had been traveling around the world, one destination leading to the next, going with the flow of life without any fixed plans and without any ideas on what my future would be like.

Since August 2009 I had been traveling back and forth to Mali in Northwest Africa and the country and its people had grown upon me. I guess that the vision of starting my own travel organization, specializing in journeys to Mali is kind of a logic consequence of all that I have gathered in my life so far: working experiences and qualities, travel experiences, my love for hiking and traveling and my love for Mali and its people.

Papillon Reizen was founded per the 1st of July and lots of work has been done since. Some awesome journeys are scheduled for the first half year of 2011 and more journeys are in the process of being created.

Stepping into this new phase of my life comes naturally with spending lots of time in Mali and with all aspects of life there. A life that is in many ways different from life in The Netherlands. In this blog I’ll share some of my experiences with you!

Enjoy,

Monique
